Getting Started

• Click on pages that provide an overview of the curriculum for grade 2. The District Core Map provides a year-long overview of the topics and standards for the year. Grade 2 priority standards are also outlined.

• Click on the topic you are working on to see the outline of that topic. Each topic is outlined using principles of Understanding by Design. The principles of UbD are to begin first with what students will know and be able to do. These are outlined as standards, objectives, big ideas, and essential questions. Second, you would consider how would you know that students had meant those standards. We often call this our assessment. The final stage would be to consider your learning activities that would support students in meeting the goals you have outlined.
